This sucks
I did a little research and found out that the bolt in the harmonic balancer for some of the 05's was made too short.
Unfortunately yesterday mine decided to back out and throw off an accessory belt, leak some oil on my exhaust and smoke up my cabin pretty good. So questions,1. Has anyone else had this happen before they proactively had their dealer fix this problem.
2. If so, did they have to replace any engine internals? I talked to one guy who said his crackshaft got stripped and they had to basically get a whole new engine.
3. I am out of warranty. Has anyone had this happen and GM fess up to the mistake and cover the parts and labor?
4. Any advice and this matter?
I am pretty
. At least it happened in the middle of October and not May. As always, thanks for any input.

05's have bad rear ends and now I guess bad harmonic balancer bolts.
Be real nice to the right people and GM might just pick this one up:

I believe the issue started out with a torquing machine improperly calibrated at the factory....and wasn't caught until vin 11036 was on the line. Someone correct me if I'm wrong...
