Are EBCM and BPMV malfunctions common on C6's? I'm replacing both of these on my C5 (2004) and I'm out of pocket about $4,500. I'm so mad I'm thinking about trading up before the Chevy dealership does the repair.
I saw your original post and was just going to let anybody that had any problems answer.
Butt.....as you can see, nobody had any input!!!
I can't remember hearing any general problems with ABS. There have been a couple of isolated reports of "ice mode", but I think it was either something that the driver's didn't understand what was going on, or a problem with odd sized aftermarket tires/wheels that were confusing the ABS because of significant difference in ratio between front and rear sizes from the stock ones.
Overall, the ABS is a great system on the C6 with virtually no problems.
Dealers often repair by "shotgunning" parts. It could be anything from a bad wheel sensor cable, an ungrounded SS brake line to the EBCM.......
PM me for my experiences.
