Default BCM Programming - Activating RPO

Hi guys,

I would like to activate an RPO on the car that wasn't present initially, but I have installed the components of the said RPO.

I am not having much success, I have the impression that the problem comes from the fact that the BCM is "VIN locked", I can only set options and not reprogram

Anyway can anyone explain to me in a nutshell how to activate the RPO (CE4 in my case)?

I am begining to think that I will have to get a new BCM to be able to do that, I am correct?

Thanks,

Cedric

A BCM won't matter if you can't program the RPO. After you were to get all the items to add to the car, a VCI number from the Factory would be nec. to add this option to the BCM, and they won't do it as far as I know.

hmmm, I guess I'm going to talk to the dealer that sold me this stuff then.

What's a VCI number? Is it some code that will allow the RPO to be enabled? Will they give this number to the dealer that sold me this stuff so that it can enabled or is it some secret super duper stuff that only the factory dudes keep?

Thanks for your insight,

Cedric

A VCI number is nec. to program something that is either an acc. upgrade, or a special "program" that is not in the system for a car. It wouldn't be in the system for your car because it never came with it. The factory isn't in the market to add programs, so I don't think you will have any luck. Your 1 hope may be if they will do it for a conversion, ie Eourpean. See if your local dealer can call Techline and if its possible. Good luck.
