recently i had a clutch malfunction on my c6 during "spirited driving". it didnt grenade or anything, i got the car home without the clutch, the pedal now just flops back and forth like it aint hooked to nothing and rests on the floorboard unless you pull it up, but clutch is engaged regardless of pedal position. when i work the pedal, the fluid in the reservoir sloshes and squirts out, but there is no resistance on the pedal. fluid ramains full and there are no leaks that i can find. ive determined that it must be the slave cylinder or whatever name they have for it?????? anybody have any info on this? also does anybody know if the slave cylinder is internal or external?
thanks guys
no i havent changed the fluid. it was a hair low a good while back and i topped it off with the correct fluid, but it was slap full when it broke. is there any other reason it would need to be bled out of the blue???

Sounds like the master took a dump on you. From what you are saying that the fuid slooshes around and squirts out when the pedal is pushed down, that tells me that the internal check valve is gone, instead of applying pressure to the slave in the torque tube, its just sqirting back at you. My money is on the master, which is MUCH MUCH easier to replace than the slave cylinder which requires that the transaxle be removed to get access to replace it.
thanks for the replies. that makes sense and its great news, car is still under warranty, but i really didnt want them guys at the dealership tearing the car apart to get to the slave!!!

I don't think you want someone else other than a dealer tearing into it either. The job isn't that bad, in fact with the proper equipment the transmission can be removed along with the torque tube in about 2 hours or less. I can take them apart and reinstall them and you would never know I was in there.
