no...it was the R/T, the Hemi 5.7 liter. It didn't have the R/T stripe option, the guy opted for the hemi badges instead. Besides, the V6 gets nowhere near 14 sec in the 1/4, the SRT8 only hits 13's and the R/T stock should be high 13's to mid 14's, this guy ran a 14.0.

Well it was evident from the driver's difficulty in staging on the first run that this guy never raced before, maybe he did think that R was for race.
On your part great runs.

I'm surprised he ran that fast. He was forever getting out of the hole and that thing easily weighs at least 800 pounds more with a lot less horsepower.

To try and answer all the questions:
Mods are L92/L76 GMPP heads/intake
mild cam
Lg headers
SLP loudmouth2 exhaust
Vararam cai
CAM tune
No N20 or turbos in my future, but been on the fence about 2 other mods for awhile now....
It's not a Z, but thanks, feels good to be in that territory!
The Dodge ran a 14.0 at over 101MPH.
Dodge driver said he drag raced a few years ago, but not since, so he was rusty and probally a little nervous with a new car.
Thanks for all the comments guys. I think these runs will be it for the year and my quest for 10's will begin anew in '09

Thats hilarious, I have never seen someone leave a car in reverse at the strip. He must of been a newbie at it. In any case its also sorta funny that the new challengers are not running any faster than they did nearly 38 years ago when they were new with the 340's, 383, or 440 cars. Where as the Corvette has a huge improvement over their old school brothers.
