put new rims and tires on 2006 c6 covt mich piolt sport cups now getting wheel hop in first gear

You may have had the wheel hop prior to the wheel/tire switch...

But things to consider would be:
  • Checking tranny mounts
  • Road test wheel alignment
  • 4 corner balance
  • upgrading the sway bars
  • upgrading shocks
  • Removing the leaf springs

Also, tires need a few hundred miles of running before they act normal. Any brand new shiny tire will act different when lots of power is applied...

I hope you meant that as in "installing coilovers"... If you just removed the leafsprings and left nothing in its place there would be some real issues
