I know this has been discussed and re discussed what is a good all around tire on a 05 Z-51 mn6 car with a prochager/cam 9lbs boost and 4:10 gears. The car is not traced just a street car with some extra umph
I replaced run-flats with BFG g-Force T/A KDW 2s from tire rack www.tirerack.com. they handle much better than the run-flats. Breakaway is much more gradual and predictable and they are much better in the wet. They also don't grab ruts and jerk the car around like the run-flats. They were also about $900 cheaper than the original replacements. The Tire Rack guy tries to push me to Michelins but they were more expensive... I was concerned about not having runflats, and found a spare tire kit is available from www.vettespare.com , which will get you back from far away, which even the run-flats won't do

I did the same thin, except...use bfg drags on tha back in the summer....the Kdw's with the blower just spin, but over all much better than run-flats

I also go to the track on weekends (Drag) so I use MT Drag Radials, just to be safe I carry 2 cans of "Fix a Flat" I also bought a 12 volt air compressor from Continental" that I / you, can use just to fill the tire with more air, OR it also has a can of sealant that can be used..
The compressor cost $89 including the sealant, and the 2 cans of fix a flat were about $6 each..
That spare tire is $950 for THAT kind of $$ I can call a flat bed and have my car flat bedded home. I also have roadside assistance, & they will tow or flatbed my car up to 50 miles... I just think $950 is a lot of $$ for a spare, when you can fix a flat (even temporally) for a Helluva lot less.. AND the compressor & 2 cans fit in the compartment in the rear... JMO
yes, the spare is expensive. i guess anything low volume is, but the overall cost was only $50 more than the runflats and next time i get tires it will still be there. I have an airpump that plugs into the cig lighter and a plug kit too! I don't like the flat fix stuff because it causes the wheel to go badly out of ballance and has to be removed. I guess if you don't stray too far none of it matters. Driving across Wyoming in the winter makes you cautious... BTW - what are the drag tires like in normal driving and do you use the stock front wheels when you drag race?

I like your Marlboro girls!
I use Mickey Thompson Drag Radials. They are DOT for driving on the street, but don't last very long, I have 20 runs on mine & they are well into the wear bars.. (GREAT for the TRACK) but bad if you hit wet roads
If they (the DR) tires are pretty new they are ok for the street, but you still have to be VERY cautious if it starts to rain or on wet roads...
I used to use skinny front tires on my 96... but on my C6 I just leave the stock tires on the front...
PS I quit smoking back in 1973.. but still love my Marlboro girls
