Ive done a search and havent found the answer Im looking for. Has anyone done a back to back runs with the TM and after removed with tuning software such as hp tuners? How much difference ET and MPH in the quarter. Thanks, Normand
I know with a z06 TM helps negate wheel spin with stock tires so the gain in et is zero. With DR's there would be a difference from TM holding you back some so thats where your gains would be.
Since dgdoc doesn't seem to be around here is some responses that I got from him regarding TM in a thread I started in March:

I'm looking for a SAFE happy medium between the GM TM settings and having it completley gone (if there is such a thing) when I get it tuned. Any advice on the subject? actual #'s?
You are correct, GM put this in to limit their warranty exposure.
On stock tires, I've found that the .2 second throttle reduction associated with TM helps limit wheelspin on shifts. And if you're running with the stock EMT's, this can actually be beneficial.
If you're running drag radials or slicks, it's a different story and eliminating TM can improve your times a bit.
However, in either case, eliminating or reducing TM will increase the probability of driveline breakage. And even with TM enabled, you can still break stuff.

I would definitely agree that the driver and how they accellerate and shift has almost everything to do with breaking parts unless you have tons of HP, so is it even worth messing with unless your trying to squeeze every tenth you can at the track?
Read my post above. If you're after the best times with stock tires, you would do best to leave TM enabled to help limit wheelspin on shifts.
I've reviewed tons of data logs from C6Z's and even with TM cutting the throttle back on shifts, there is still considerable wheelspin. Turn off TM and you'll end up extending the period when you're spinning.
I realize there has been a lot of misinformation on the impact of TM on times at the track. However, after extensive analysis, it is now clear to me that ET's are not being hurt by TM if you're running with the stock EMTs.
It was already modded, but with the only parameter being changed in the computer being TM, without the newer TM tune, my car went 12.0's at 121/122mph and with the newer tune, it goes 11.3's and 11.4's at 124-127mph. No other mods were performed (car was already modded) except for the tuning change back in Feb/March.

I did just that back in June after I had my transmission replaced.
I can't remember the MPH difference but the ET difference was .3 seconds and ended up being .1 second for each of the three shifts.
I have experienced a 2 tenth difference in 1/8 mile racing..... I removed the TM at the track and it was a night and day change. The car felt like a large bog after each shift with TM on. Much more spin to deal with on the Goodyears.....Nitto Invos held much better.
Also TM negatively effects ET more if you powershift. Taking the TM off was much more of a change than my C-5 Z06. I was very surprised and running down the track requires a lot more attention and correction.
Only 1/4 mile runs have been after the cam/ header install.
I think I still have the stock HP Tuner logs somplace on my laptop.
