Default Car pulls left - Active Handling Problem

Just in case anybody runs into similar problems here's how my active handling system problem was solved.

First of all, the actual symptom was uncommanded application of the left brake which caused the car to pull violently left. This was happening at highway speed, driving straight and without warning.

The dealer changed the steering position sensor which did not fix the problem.

Further investigation led to the yaw sensor which was the cure.

I hope nobody else runs into this problem, but if you do the GM troubleshooting trees goes through the steering sensor to the yaw sensor.

Very interesting post... last time I was at the track, as I was doing my burnout it went a little sideways, and the active handling said "Recalibrating" and the yellow light on the dash wouldn't go off (the Traction Control) .. After I drove it about 2 miles it reset itself.. and has been ok since..

What you are describing is perfectly normal and a well known issue with all active handling since Corvette implemented it in the first C5s; it happens when the car is started up and driven for a very short distance before a sharp turn or something else brings A/H on, then it will light up the warning light. You can avoid it next time by not turning the car off while you're at the strip...

What the OP is describing is NOT normal and a very serious issue.
