There are at least three good long tube headers available: Kooks, LG made by Borla, and American Racing. Although I really like the fit and quality of American Racing, I would recommend pricing all three brands and purchase the one that gives you the best buy.
Because the primary tubes are the long design, the headers will not bolt up to your factory H pipe. You must purchase the headers with a matching X pipe (with or without hi-flow cats) and they will extend to your factory over axle pipes. Your factory H pipe will come out in less than 10 minutes if your cast iron manifolds and cats are already removed.
Also, make sure the price includes cat wiring extentions.
I don't think I've ever seen another C6 with Stainless Works but that is what I'm running and I love 'em. I got them at a good price so I went with 'em. If I didn't do them I would have done LG.
I had dynatech headers installed at a dealership. Never had any codes but they do have cats. If you remove the cats you will need a tuner to get rid of a code.
We have a system for you we can do with or without cats and you can keep you NPP you will need to get a tune not only for possible codes but to adjust the air/fuel to make better use of your headers. If your interested in our product give us a call 631-608-1986
