Here is the situation in which i find myself.
my 1 key fob battery died and i had to ship my Vette to Germany so i shipped it with the #2 good fob and key.
NOW they are talling me they dont have a key or fob and the car is on the ship at the port in germany...WTF?
So with that basically they say they cant get the car off the boat, i am sure i should be able to get On-Star to unlock the car right?
Is there a way to program the key fob without the car or without the key to the car?
With my luck they will fork lift the car off the ship, bust a window or just plain jack my car up.
any thoughts?

If OnStar works in Germany, that would only get them into the car, I guess if it's a manual they could push it out. As for programming the key fob, i'm 99% sure you've got to have the car. On the other hand, if you just had the battery replaced in your old fob, the car will remember the fob. You could then send them that fob, but then you take a chance on loosing your only remaining fob. So what I would do is go to GM get a new fob and Key, send them the old programmed fob and new key, then if they loose it, you still have a key to get into the car to reprogram the new fob..
Thanks man that is what i was thinking about onstar, but the dealer could not tell me if onstar is available in europe...
will call onstar and just ask them.
do they need to know an exact location for this to work, never did read my manual on how it works and never used it.

Onstar has been available in Europe since 2004. As long as the GPS signal is not blocked in some way, they know exactly where your car is at all times. The number to Onstar is 1-888-466-7827.

Blocked.... you mean like being inside a big metal ship?
