pcm question

Is there any way to tell if a pcm is from an auto or manual by the markings on the sticker?

They are the same, just programed differently. You should be able to take a manual one and turn it into an auto, if you have the right equipment. 05 is different than the rest.

There isn't a "PCM" in a C6 like there is in a C5. The PCM (powertrain control module) in the C5 controls both the engine and transmission.

In the C6, there is an ECM (engine) and a separate TCM (transmission). All ECMs are the same, whether auto or manual, but there are different ECMs for different years. If it is an 05, the same E-40 ECM can be found in the following cars:

-05 Buick Ranier 5.3L
-SSR 6.0L
-Trailblazer 5.3L
-Envoy Denali 5.3L
-Isuzu Ascender 5.3L
-GTO 6.0L
-Saab 9-7x ARC 5.3L
