Default High power dyno question

Has anyone ever seen a dyno graph where the torque climbs all the way to the point where I lift at 8000? This is not a c6 but in a VERY high powered 3800 pound Grand National. I know Its driving through the converter so I dont know if thats what a dyno shows when you are driving thru it. Anyone ever see this? The engine is about 1400hp at flywheel. It made 1156rwhp thru 400 turbo automatic. Spin? Rodney? Tuners? anyboby have any ideas? I wanted to use the dyno session to redo my converter but according to this my torque peak is about 8000rpm. thanks, Norm

The only case where that would happen is in an FI car that makes its max boost up high. As boost climbs, its TQ will also. With a twin screw, it will peak again where it makes max boost which is low in rpm.

Really high peaking TQ will be most evident on a centif, boosted car with the highest boost at the max rpm the engine will run.

This is a 106 mm turbo and a rather large bore small stroke big block combo. I see 15 psi low in the rpms

When you see the TQ peak high its because the car isnt making boost down low. Thats not how turbos work. If you are thinking you have too much down low, you can tune it down lower in RPM with timing and fuel changes to lower output.

Cars that do that arent making more up top, its that it isnt doing much down low. Roots s/c's are the furthest from what you are talking about. They make max boost at 2500 and the TQ peak is low.

As long as the TQ & HP curves intersect @ 5252rpm, the curves can do pretty much anything.
