Default Looking for Supercharger Info.

I've got a bone stock 2006 Z51, manual and want to supercharge it. I'm leaning toward a Vortech A&A kit, American Racing headers with X pipe, into stock mufflers (don't want to wake the neighbors...yet ). I'm hoping to get a 200 hp bump, but want a safe/conservative tune. Considering adding a mild cam to this package. Anybody have a better combo to suggest?

Life's short, enjoy the ride!

Also have 06 z51 manual. Went with the ECS paxton kit with headers. This will meet your goals as well.

Both good systems. Always a debate over which is better.

I have and like the ECS kit with the restrictor plate. It makes more low and mid TQ and the assembly was a one man job including the best install. The kit the way it comes will make 7psi at 3500rpms. I see that boost a bit sooner and its why they do so well in the midband and make great street cars.

The cam is a must since its 70hp and determines the power band.

Chris, Doug, and crew were always there for extended phone calls as I upgraded things and customized the kit. The IAT's are so low I cant tell its a blower car from the scans until it goes WOT. I also have never seen any ECT above 192 and thats from idling for a long time. When driving its always 176 and runs great.

I had a H/C job before the install and the car basically drives stock and no start-up issues or other tuning nightmares.

Boosted cars have some charateristic things about them but you get used to them. Then again youre not debating FI; just which kit.

I dont like the bosch blow-off valve.

Check out the Callaway Supercharger configurations at:

They make them for C5's and C6's. They may be more expensive that others but you have the benefits of Callaway engineering (20 years working on Vettes) along with full factory warranty. I have a C6 (2008) Callaway Corvette and the power/torgue across the bandwidth is awesome.

I think you'll be happy with that combo. Andy makes a good kit as does ECS. An additional 200 crank HP should be no problem.

ecs kit here and loving it. Fi cars take some time to get used to driving. The power is awsome when it kicks in. If you put on a sc then you need headers and a 3" exaust and z06 rear section. Of course then after you drive that for a while you will want meth or turn up the boost to get a little bit more.

I've got a similar combo on my 2006 Z51 manual; Vortech A&A with Kooks heders and X pipe and stock Z06 mufflers. Made 597WHP / 518WTQ via a safe/conservative tune with pump gas and nothing else. This is about 250more than stock, and I paid $5300 for the kit and did the install myself; you will not find anything cheaper that will make that much power, and the driveability is flawless... Highly recommended
