Default TEA LS2 STG2 head pics

Heads came in today and the car is almost back together.

They flow excellent and I could'nt be happier since they only cost $1,000 since I had my Patriot springs already. This car is so easy to work on, I wish you guys would tear into them more. They are very easy to mod.

I know everyone loves car **** so here are a few pics and if you look close enough, you will notice ARP bolts used for the excessive ammounts of N20 that I will run through this car.

It should run well now, all I need is the Spin/FAST and a 150-200 shot.

Enjoy

anxious to see what kind of power this will put out. from experience, if brian tooley has a hand in these, it will be not only worth the money but impressive as well.

Wow, those are impressive flow numbers from a 243 head. Well beyond what I thought a stage II would produce. Typical ported heads pick up 20-25rwhp on these LS2's, but with those numbers 40rwhp would seem possible. Good luck looks like with the right cam you should be close to 490-500rwhp!

I was really impressed with the flow as well. Those guys were a pleasure to deal with and I know Tooley is a head God.

They did forget to give me the damn coolant plug that goes in the pass head. I tried tracking it down today and I hope the dealer has one tomorrow. Im not going to have a new tune until the Spin/FAST is on so I wont have any numbers right away.

I wonder if they will be ok when I install a 402? I know TFS's flow better but for a grand, hell...

It's a forged internal 347cui LS6, 11.5:1 Compression, TEA Stage LS6 Stage 2 heads, with upgraded Trick Flow springs for .650" lift, flow numbers were 323.3/262.1 @ 600". Cam is a 244/248 .620/.622 @112+2. FAST 92 Intake/TB, Meizere water pump, Racetronix Hot Wire Kit/Pump, Lucas 42lb/hr injectors, Kooks 1 7/8" with off road pipe, Coras Cat back, LS7 Clutch, RPM Level IV + T56.

Motor is in a 2002 Z28, on a Mustang Dyno it put down 460rwhp@7100rpm/400rwtq@5950rpm. With the vehicle weight and areodynamic coefficient for a 2002 Corvette it put down 489rwhp@7200rpm/440rwtq@6000rpm. I only did that to compare Apples to Apples with a similar LS6 engine we did. I wasn't too concerned with the dyno numbers though. . .With 60lbs of fuel pressure, I'm using 76% of the Injector Duty Cycle. That puts the fuel consumption right where I thought it should be for the crank HP I was looking for.

I just completed that stage of the build in October, and the car used to be an automatic, so it still has the stock 3.23:1 rear end so I haven't taken it to a track yet. What I can say is that the power comes on VIOLENTLY at 4500rpm or so. So fast in fact that the factory tack can't keep up. I have to shift at 5800rpm into 2nd as to not to hit the 7500rpm rev limiter according the the factory tach. While shifting into 3rd at 96mph, it'll still spin the tires until you let off.

Wheels/Tires/Rear End/Suspension will be installed this Spring, then it'll be ready for some track time. Here's some dyno video of the car:

Damn stout for 346cu. I thought the FAST was the restriction at that high rpm level, but looks like you winded out pretty good for max power. Seems like the FAST on our LS2's make peak power between 5800-6400 and that is a fully ported version.

I'm still getting intake restriction, I'll be sending my intake out for porting in the next few weeks. At 6800rpm I'm at a 3kpa loss, and by 7200 I'm at 6kpa, so there's more in it.

Its done and started on the first crank. After a heat cycle I will give my input. I will get a few numbers after the FAST but I may head out to PBIR in a few weeks.

Well here is the report.

I threw the car back together and had to drive 4 hrs the very next day, hows that for confidence in your work?

The car is VERY quick now. I was driving @ 84-85 (HUD) mph and hit it and litterally in a few moments (4-6 sec) I was @ 131 (HUD) mph and let off! The car is totally undrivable from a roll under 30mph and it will spin the tires @ 40mph while in S mode holding 2nd gear with new KDW's. Mucho fun now and it would run even better with a new tune but Im going to wait for the FAST.

Anyway, its so much better than when it was stock near 5 months ago and I want to encourage you guys to tear into these cars. Stock they suck so bad.
