The reason I ask is I just sold my C5 Z06 and yesterday I drove my dad's C6 manual Z51(which is supposed to have a little more aggressive gearing from what I have read) and today I drove a C5 coupe with a manual that we are gonna sell. Just purely from a "seat of the pants" aspect, the C6 seems the slowest of the three. My Z felt great from a dig or from a roll and the coupe I drove today felt pretty close to it but the C6 feels a little more sluggish on the bottom. Has anybody else experienced this or is it me? A list of gear ratios would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes the manual C6 Z51 does have a little more aggressive gearing than a manual base C6 but it does NOT have more aggressive gearing than a C5 Z06, they should be identical (both in the rear diff and the transmission's internal gearing) actually, if they were on the same size that is. The C6 has taller stock tires that are also runflats, that will change the feel a little bit as well.

I can understand the taller tire aspect. I sold my Z and got a Z51 coupe. It's not ready for the road yet so I'm driving my dad's vert. I was just a little disappointed with the acceleration, that's all. EVERYTHING else about the new car I love over the C5 even though it was a great car. I plan on headers and a cam, for starters, to insure that the new car is faster. I can't live with an upgrade in car but a downgrade in power.

Many people have stated something similar, that their stock C6 feels slower than their stock (LS1) C5 did but most of the time it turns out that the C6 is simply so much more refined/smooth than the C5 was that it gives the illusion or impression of being slower. It usually isn't though.
I had a 2000 M6, and went to a 03 ZO6. The ZO6 definitely felt stronger, and the gearing impacted that for sure. I sold the ZO6 when I thought my job was going away and bought a highly modded 98 T/A M6 with 415 RWHP and 3.73 gears. It felt a little quicker than the Z, but they seemed very close. Now I have an 08 Vette with the A6. I still have the T/A and hadn't driven it for several months. Got in it the T/A the other day and it feels slower than the 08. It's definitley not as torquey. Does that mean the 08 is quicker than the 03 ZO6? Doubtful, but sometimes the butt dyno is not so accurate.....
Enjoy your car and don't worry too much about how it compares to the old one.
I completely agree that the C6 is way more refined and I felt that about a mile down the road. It's just a better car period. I still can't help but miss the "raw" feel of the Z but I wouldn't go back. Like some of you said, I guess I need to shut my mouth and enjoy my new car.
