Neons on a Vette???
Hello,
Curious on what people think about underbody and interior neons on a c6. Some people think they are for ricers but i think they look really cool. Just looking for opinions. Dont hold back I believe everyone is intitled to there opinion. Thanks Jeff

Actually I have a funny story... You know the really AWEFUL crap you see all the nasty cheap rice burners sporting? I am talking big front lips that crack, HID lights that spread light everywhere but straigth ahead where you want to see, big aluminum wings, body kits that don't match, etc etc?
99% of that crap comes from China... When I was in china (I've been there on work assignments 3 times) I was amazed to find out that appearently they LOVE that stuff there. I would say at least 50% of the vehicles on the roads there were riced out to the max with the same cheap crap our domestic ricers buy on Ebay... I'm talking minivans with full body kits, 4" exhaust tips and neon lights, work trucks with aftermarket HID bulbs and aluminum wings, 1L 4 cylinder tiny korean cars with giant front lips, spoilers, body kits, etc, etc
On a more serious note though; I don't think there are any good spots for the bulbs; they are kinda thick and there is nothing to mount them to on the underbody:

I'll tell you this though...if you're one of those people that care about what others think, I wouldn't do it. I'm coming from the import community, and still own it, actually, and even there, if you want to be taken seriously, neons are pretty much just for "Fast and Furious" ricer-types. You know, the type that everyone hates, including fellow import enthusiasts.
Personally, I think that they're not so great. Unless you're building a flashy show car, I think that they look pretty obnoxious. Also, part of the reason why I like the Corvette is because it doesn't need things like neon underglow lights to look "flashy".
But again, if you think it looks good, go for it. Because, in the end, it's all about your own personal satisfaction when it comes to being an automotive enthusiast. My .02.

I NEVER post on these forums, I lurk, as I still have my M3, and am still waiting to get my corvette....but i have to break my silence...i threw up in my mouth a little when reading the question about underglow. I'm not saying it to bash ya dude, but it would look like ***. The corvette is a straight sportscar..no need for flash, its great just the way it is. Coming from the "euro" scene, i really don't like chrome rims either! which i know guys is a big 
for american cars, but i'm still adjusting! lol
Cliff notes- underglow is gay (in my opinion) DON'T DO IT
pps-but if you are absolutely going to put underglow on it...silver would look good with red (i'd still puke and point and laugh though)

The opinions I got were expected. I will not do it. As for the chrome wheels I have black Z06 wheels with a chrome lip. As soon as it gets nice again I will get some pics posted. Thanks for the input.

I'm another one of the few here that thinks Chrome rims are tacky as hell and have been thoroughly cheapened by the ghetto / rap / hip-hop culture and wouldn't put a set on my car if they were free.I also think big rims are ghetto as hell, but then again I build my cars to be fast, not to look flashy.
