I've used a few different kits and they are all about that much $$

If you want to pin your crank and have no kit I will let you borrow mine. All you need to find is the steel dowels in the right diameter. Not too bad a job if a machine shop is near by. Or, find a local guy that installed a Maggie and get his tool. Same same.

All the kit is, is a guide that fits in the crank bolt hole allowing you to drill 1 or 2 holes half in the crank and half in the balancer.

If you have a keyed balancer and just want a woodruf type key, I have another kit that goes over the crank snout and guides a perpendicular hole in the crank. Then, you drive a steel pin in vertically, which sticks out a bit to align in the keyway in your balancer. Both work but the first kind will do you no good if you are trying to use your keyed balancer without drilling a hole in it.

Drilling a hole in a forged crank from the top is no fun. I had a bit shatter and cut the end of my finger off about 1/4". Luckily it all grew back lol.

I guess the most important thing is to have the allignment tool. I know I cant drill a square hole in the crank but the drill size probably rounds it out on the balancer and straight into the crank. I thank you for your offer and may take you up on it if my installer is ill equipped. Leon

Maybe someone that has installed a supercharger will lend you the kit.
All it contains is a drill guide, drill bit, reamer, and a bolt to hold it in place. Then all ya gotta buy is the two pins. PM me if ya can't find one locally.

Actually in looking at my powwerbond balancer KIT which I got a good deal on there is a bolt with a very wide washerlike section at the base of the head. All I would need is the Proper size roll pin and a drill bit that would have enough radius to round out the keyway. All I would really need is the fixture for obvious reasons.

So if I install a aftermarket underdrive pulley on my 05 MN6, which is what I have been thinking of doing, I will probably throw my crankshaft/clutch and flywheel assembly out of balance? By the way my VIN falls into the bad pulley batch. I'm going to check with GM to see if it has been corrected. Is there a way to do this on the internet?

That seems to be the logic but I changed mine on my 05 MN6 and I was straight.

The pulley in the first pic looks just like the ASP which seems to be associated with a lot of timing chain failures.

I haven't done mine, yet, but here's the kit I purchased directly from Magnuson for about $85.
