So, my runflat Supercar tires are an their last leg and I'm just looking to put another 1000 miles on them and I pick up a nail. So rather than have them pulled and patched I put a vulcanized plug in it.
I am a pretty strong guy, this was freakin' hard work, I'm talking real hard!!!! I am going to put BFG 2's on next, and for emergency going to keep little compressor and plug kit in car; so here's the question...
How many folks out there have plugged a performance tire, and did you have as much fun as me putting a plug in a flat? On the road, not in your garage!
From: Greater Detroit Metro MI, when I'm not travelling.

Looking forward to responses...Kevin
I did, but I took advantage of the fact that they are run flats and drove to a tire place so they could plug it from the inside... It held up (even at speeds over 170MPH) for 8000 miles untill a pothole in Detroit destroyed it.
Plugged one myself. Took maybe two minutes. Piece of cake. 4000 miles later all is good. I don't plan to track my car so it was a no brainer for me. I couldn't deal with any drama at the tire store scratching the rim, cracks in the body, did they use pucks or not. I just did and will do it again if needed.
KDW's suck FWIW. I can spin these things all day, every day
plugged all of them at least once. I drive to construction sites daily. BFG is great for my 4x4 but not for my vette. 1st choice would be the nitto race tires followed by the Toyo 888s followed by the yet to be tested and will be installed wednesday kumho XS, soft by still can deal with rain. Good price also. $1066.26 shipped for the set.
