Default ZR1 Shocks

Can anyone tell me if the ZR1 shocks would be a plug and play in my C6 F55?

As the ZR1 is heavier, I'm not sure the rates would be a good match. What do think you would gain?

I thought I read that the shocks are made to run cooler than the ones on my car. Thought that maybe the car might respond a little different when in sport mode.

According to one of the lead Delphi engineer's for controlled suspensions, the ZR1 MR dampers possess "slightly different internals" than the F55 shocks on the C6. Of primary importance, the ZR1 controller possesses different/revised calibration sets (algorithms) with such featues as launch mode and track detect which can utilize the ZR1 MR shocks to their fullest effect.

IMO putting ZR1 MR shocks in your F55 equipped C6 is not going to do much of anything to enhance your suspension. They may 'plug' but you're not going to get the ZR1 'play' you expect. I was told, however, it would be possible to 'plug' a ZR1 controller into an F55 equipped C6 (if you could get a ZR1 controller) and I would gain some measure of the more competition oriented aspects of the ZR1 suspension. I would, however, lose some of the functional characteristics I was used to with the C6 F55 suspension.

Spring rates notwithstanding, I don't believe putting ZR1 dampers on an F55 equipped C6 is going to enhance performance on the street or on the track. You'd get more effect using the ZR1 controller. I'm not sure exactly what your goal is but know that the F55 suspension on the C6 is not too shabby in its own right. It is IMO the best all-around suspension offered for Corvette. The F55 is a superb setup for the street and with improved sway bars/wheels/tires you might be surprised with how well the F55 suspension performs on a track...not quite coil-overs but pretty damn good!

Wayne,
Thanks for the technical input. I do have different bars, and larger brakes now was just wondering if the shocks would enchance the perfomance.

It would be interesting to know if they'd fit. If I remember correctly, they were really expensive though.
