I Recently decided I wanna put a new shifter in my 07 Z and I've heard the MGW is by far the best? also I am wondering if I should install it myself or have it installed. Keep in mind only things I don't have a whole lot of experiance so it would prolly take me some time. also if someone had a link for step by step directions and some pictures that would be awsome
I've got one and installed it myself. I'm pleased with the shifter, compared to OEM. I'd recommend doing a search here on the forum for instructions. It's really not that hard, just some time and patience.
George includes good instructions for the installatioin. By far the most time consuming part is removal of the radio panel bezel. Talon90 has great instructions for that on his web site.
I loved MGW unit ran it in my Cobra and have buddies currentlty running in their c6's. I would have one in mine, but I got an A6 this time round. Install is simply and a top notch product. One of the best units out in my opinion.
A great shifter and easy install - Hardest part is the bezel removal. Several people have gotten some "buzz' from the shifter when the car is still cold, but mine is fine - no buzz at all.

Be aware that MGW is running way behind on thier orders as they are waiting on parts from thier suppliers. I ordered mine around Dec 15 and still don't have it yet.
I have one in my 08 and I love it. At first, it's a dramatic change and you might question it, but after a couple weeks, you won't believe you ever used the stock piece! Install is easy, but involved. Go slow and follow directions, and with basic tools you can do it. Mine went fine other than when I dropped a socket wrench and knicked the paint...GRRRR!!!!
