I put an Exo-Skel in and it is way to stiff to even contemplate driving in the DC area. I knew it was going to be stiff, but WOW... I guess I made a bad choice, I put it in and never even drove it and am now taking it back out.
I want a clutch that is able to handle nitrous on top of what I already have which is about 450rwhp so it needs to handle about 600rwhp. I need excellent driveablity, meaning No Chatter and Stock Stiffness, but still hold for Track Days.
The Exo-Skel is a great clutch, but I would rather sell it now with 0 miles on it, rather than sell it as semi-used clutch where some would have to question the breakin.
I'm not sure if there is a dual disk that fits the specs I want or if a good strong single disk is going to be better. Opinions please...
MTI has a single disc that's supposed to be only 20% stiffer than stock, and it'll hold 600 rwhp.
Check with them.

I could've have swarn that I've heard somewhere that they're clutches that are stronger without being stiffer. I dont know if it's a different design that would enable it to be so or myth.
I had a RPS stage 3 clutch in my 03 cobra, It felt like stock. Hooked good and did not chatter after break in. (50 or so miles)
As far as I know it's still in the car and doing fine.
Please PM my buddy GTODoug. He has been through the gamit in his 402 with a 200 shot of nitrous - with stock, LS7, Tex, Tex Twin...all failing. Now he has the Zoom Dual and loves it. He will speak to you on the phone if you like.
I bought the RPS carbon twin light, they are expensive, about $2200-$2900 depending on which one you get but they are awesome and rebuildable for about $600

They are not that much any more. They are now about 1700 bucks. The billet twin is about 2200. PM me if anyone is interested.

I realize many people in this thread have had good luck with RPS, but when I was reading another thread Started by SpinMonster, many people didn't have any success with them.
Zoom seems to be priced good, but I would like more input before moving forward, I need to order something today...

Doug is going to post, I sent him a link. In the meantime call Horsepower Sales in Pompano, my shop. They've installed many of these. Call 954-782-6700, tell them Joe G with the blue Vette sent you, ask to speak to Jeremy. Jeremy will give you the straight scoop on them and RPS and Tex...they've installed them all...and you can make your decision.

I am also interested in the Zoom dual disc... Seems like every single clutch I read about here I can find at least 2 people with complaints about chatter, massive pedal effort, low life, harsh engagement... I am wondering if the Zoom would be a good choice for a daily driven car?

I just called Horsepower Sales out of Pompano Fla and ordered the 920lbft version of the Zoom Dual Disk with Aluminum Flywheel!!! Great price and Jeremy definitley had the first hand experience to discuss different types of clutches and make his recommendation.
Now Does anyone want a newly installed Textraila Dual Disk Exo-Skel with upgraded Carbon disks? The Clutch has 0 miles on it, I realized in the garage while bleeding it that there was no way I could take the pedal pressure in rush hour traffic in Northern Va... $900.00

Excellent driveability. Light peddle pressure, and won't chatter. Can also handle easily 700+ RWHP/RWTQ with out a hint of slippage.
No need to spend the money on a dual disk when you can get a single dusk to handle what you need and more. We also have a dual disk, but I'd still recommend the single.
Unlike most pucked clutches, it will not chatter if someone that actually knows something about clutches installs it. With your type of driving, I highly recommend a stock weight steel flywheel. Unless you plan on doing a lot of autocross, which you'd need one of the 15 lb light weight chromoly flywheels.
let me know if you have any questions. I'm always here to help.
