Default ATEQ tire sensor reader

I just pick up the reader and it didn't come with instructions. What do I do with the magnet? I know about putting car in learn mode and holding next to sensor.
TIA

You need a little tinfoil hat, a bible in your right hand and place it behind your left ear. Then the transmissions from space will stop.

Hi John

I just got home and sent you a PM, but here's what I said:

****************************

Hi

I've never used a VT10, but many forum members have gotten one, and I've heard that it comes with NO instructions.

The VT10 is a universal tool designed for a tire shop to work with ALL sensors. The magnet is used to trigger sensors such as on the C5 - you won't use the magnet with the C6 sensors. Same with the right button - it's for other sensors on other makes of vehicles.

You'll use the LEFT button to trigger our C6 sensors.

You'll put the car into the "learn mode" and use the tool just like in the video below - push the bottom of the ignition switch to get the yellow light by ACC and then simultaneously push and hold the "lock" and "unlock" button on the Fob until you get a horn honk confirming you're in the learn mode.

Once you're in the learn mode, all the tools are used in a similar manner to trigger the sensors - put the antenna of the tool on the rubber sidewall of the tire next to the sensor like in the video. Start at the LF and push the left button and wait for a horn honk, then do the RF, RR, and lastly the LR. Make sure you get a horn honk at each tire (2 honks at LR), then turn off the ignition and you're done. If you don't get a horn honk after about 10 seconds at a wheel then it didn't work and you'll need to push the button again.

Good luck! Let me know if you have other questions.

Bob

Just keep the magnet in the box...it won't work on a C6. The magnet I believe was used on the C5 and maybe a very few early model 2005 C6's.

I use a Schrader-Bridgeport TPMS tool...I don't know anything about the kind you have but I suppose its similar in function. I'd search for posts and videos by BEZ06...he's the resident expert on the subject. Hopefully, he'll jump-in with his expertise.

Maybe this video from BEZ06 will help....
