Ok, I was wondering about this when launching the car from a dead stop. I notice in some vids I seen on the internet (from inside the car) people who launch from a stand still only have the traction control off. I been launching the car in "competitive driving mode". When the traction control is only off that means the active handling is still working. Now here is my question...
Does active handling stop the car from squatting during hard acceleration? If so it would make sense to leave active handling on during drag racing since squatting can somewhat hurt 1/4 mile times. The reason why I ask is because I cant test this out until I have access to a private road, so until then I have to ask, thanks for any help.
no you want the car to squat and put the weight over the back tires to get traction but as far as the active handling I don't know but I do know you want it to squat and put pressure on the back tires.

squatting helps traction but active handling has nothing to do with that, turn traction control and active handling off
I was under the impression that squatting is energy that could be used to propel the car instead of sinking it. I didnt factor in that pushing on the rear end would help traction a bit.
I dont know for sure the car is squatting alot, i just figured I ask since I seen some people only shut the traction control off and not launch in competitive drive mode. I will have to try this on a track with them on and off.
