Default 02 Extensions necessary?

I think I've read about people using the stock 02 wires and pulling out extra wiring beneath the covering of it.

I can't find any threads of value using the search feature, so I was wondering if this was the case?

Can I make the stock 02 sensors work with longtube headers?

If not, where is the best (see: cheapest) place to buy extensions?

I think the swap using stretched C6 stock O2 sensor wires was for a Z06 manifold/cat/H pipe, not aftermarket long tube headers.

To install LT headers you will need O2 extension wires. I have no idea where to buy them, mine came with the header purchase.

Fair enough.

It's very possible that it was for a Z06 mani swap.

You paid $1000+ for headers and you are concerned with the expense of two inexpensive O2 Extension cables....... Shame.......

PS. there is plenty of stretch in the existing wiring for the ZO6 exhaust manifold/converter swap.

FSo68 - this is true. I put on the Z06 manifolds this past weekend and was able to use the stock O2 sensors/wires by unwrapping the tape on the front ones. They barely reached in that case. I would expect the O2 sensors would be back at least another foot with LT headers.

Actually I didn't pay 1000K+ for headers (450 shipped for headers and off-road X on ebay) and I've seen 02 extensions listed from 25 each to 50 each. Saving 50 bucks is saving 50 bucks

I would never pay the outrageous amounts asked for longtubes for the C6. 1500 for headers is crazy. That's more than you should pay for a cam + install, lol.

I had the same question. I did find a set of all four for under $100 at Zip Corvettes. Have you found any other solutions yet?

I decided to buy the extensions when I installed my Kooks. Plenty of reach for the new locations and the silver heat covers look good and match the jet coating. I recommend buying a set, its only 100.00 bucks.
