Is that port supposed to be completely open clean through to the plenum? Are the ones you are seeing blocked completely blocked are or they partially blocked? I can take the throttle body off again and drill it out but thought I'd ask first.
Hey JOE G,

Trust me on this one, even partially blocked you'll still trigger a code. That port needs to be open clean through into the plenum, as Spin indicated, just remove your throttle body and drill out the port so that you can see that you are all the way through into the plenum. Once you do that I think you should be just fine.

Good Luck

Cool. I never would have guessed this would be a problem as if its pulling vacuum I would figure it's fine.

Thanks for the tip, I'll knock it out tonight hopefully!

My FAST 92 had the evap hole completely plugged. A standard 5/32" drill bit can be chucked in a drill to leave 2-3/4" available. When I drilled all the way thru, with the chuck just kissing the plastic, about 1/8" of drill bit was sticking through on the inside. If Joe_G is really getting blockage at 3", it is because something is sittin' in the middle of his manifold !!

Mine is finally going back together tomorrow night, so this information was QUITE TIMELY !! Thanx, Corvette Forum.

Would you happen to have any pics, of the location of this port? I have the same thing happening after the fast install.

It's the port on the front side of the intake, next to the throttle body, and on the drivers side. The hard black plastic purge line attaches to it when installed. I'm sure someone has a picture somewhere.

A 1/8 inch bit wont get through even on manifolds that arent plugged. The hole is smaller than 1/8 inch.

I doubt your's is plugged.

I wonder if this is a possible issue on Fast 90's too.

I e-mailed FAST and they stated they had no clue there was a problem. Seems to be pretty wide spread. Or we on the forum all have bad luck........LOL

I bought mine a week before SEMA so late October...I must have the problem as I get a check gas cap every time I drive now (I reset it each time) and my gas cap is perfect. One time had a problem with my cap not "catching" but it's been working perfectly now for a while.

I'll drill it out this weekend and report back.

Joe, Please let me know if you have any sucess when you drill it out and what method you used.. I assume you're going to do it while the manifold is still on. Craig (Craigster05) and I attempted to fix mine yesterday, but ran into clearence issues with the alternator bracket and drill. We even went to sears and bought a mini right angle drill but that was to big as well. I'm going to look for some smaller type of righ angle drill today but I'm not optimistic.. I kind of think the mainfold may have to come off to get it done.. I hope you have better luck.

That is my fear as well....my wife has a cordless right angle drill that's small I hope it works...I don't feel like taking that manifold off again!

Try a sharp drill bit using just your fingers. Would probably work but take a while. I'd presume it would be better than removing the manifold. Worth a shot. Basically it's plastic, so the sharp bit should work.

Hmm.. I've got some drill bits that have an adaptor fused to them that fits in a standard cordless drill chuck, I could use a ratchet and socket to turn it, but that would be pretty slow work! Gotta balance that out with just taking the manifold off which is about 15 minutes.

Joe if you're coming to Sebring I have an aircraft 90 degree drill, it will get the job done.
