Is it just my imagination or do wheels for the C6 only come in two varieties? It seems like you can either choose a heavier, harder-to-balance wheel for $150-200/ea or the other extreme at $1000+/ea. Aren't there any mid-priced ($400-600/ea), good quality wheels out there to choose from? I'm not looking to spend Forgeline or HRE money, but don't want cheap knockoffs either...
I don't know. Ace, the wheels from OE Wheel Distributors, etc., seem to be reasonable. Two guys just posted up about the OE wheels in the past few weeks. Haven't seen any negatives about Ace wheels. "Gumbys" come available also, every once in awhile.
There is a wheel that is a little higher in your mid price envelope but CCW is a quality FORGED wheel, easily balanced, light weight and made in the USA and if you do a search here on them you will have a hard time finding a complaint.

I agree. I've been looking at them for some time now.
I agree about CCW, forgot to mention them. However, they're in the $2.5K+ range, aren't they? If so, that opens up a whole range of others as well incl. LGM, probably something from LPE, etc.

Yeah, they're not in the 400-600 each range, but not in the 1000 each range either. The models I've looked at are 700+ each (depending on size and finish, but less than 800.
I really liked the CCW wheels but just coudn't convince myself to fight the constant polishing. I asked John about clear coating the wheels but John said the wheels were just too slick for clear to adhere to.

I ordered mine direct from CCW powder coated(comp gray). They look great and Im lazy, I dont want to spend my time polishing, I'd rather be driving!
I'd be glad to but my better half knows how to I dont.:o
I did post some though, if you open my profile then go to threads I started, on the first page maybe the second under new wheels and or brakes I have some good close up shots. Sorry its a little work but shes not feeling well this weekend and I dont want to get her out of bed. Let me know what you think.
I have been looking too and have decided on the BBS rims. The GT-RS in Diamond Black with polished lip. The whole rim clear coated. $4,500 though, two piece forged with Ti bolts. 21LBS front and 23.5 rear in C6 size rims. Have not check into the balancing though. From what I understand BBS is top quality. Check the weights of the cast stuff and your'll see the weight is a lot heavier, balancing can be a bigger problem too. This I have learned from past experience.

Just checked...first page"New Z06 Brakes"
Thanks. That is one of the only good pics of CCW's charcoal grey I've seen. Not too dark. My car is black so I'm thinking silver or black as I don't know that I can dedicate the time to the polished finish. I do like their polished finish wheels though. Hmmm.

I googled OE Wheel Distributers and it brings up a lot of really bad reviews. Some BBB reports and someone mentioning an "F" rating thru BBB. I'm currently searching for wheels myself.

I agree with San, very nice, NYC. Don't know how I missed your thread.
Actually those wheels can also be "black chromed" since they're polished only. Another alternative, San, altho probably adds cost. I recall John said they could be a long time ago when I asked him.

I'm looking at the C10s and C140s. I like the spokes of the C10s, but the middle section bothers me. I like the balanced and "flat" center of the C140s, but would like the spoke pattern of the C10s. Ultimately I'd probably choose the C140s for the street and order a set of C10s for the track.
A word of advice from past experience; unless you like to pressure wash your wheels every couple of days, stay away from rivets or bolts around the perimeter of the wheel. They collect brake dust and are impossible to clean.
If you are not looking for bling, you can have the OEM Speedline wheels widened at Weldcraft. This allows you ro run wider tires and still fit them inside the wheelwells.

I'd widen my wheels in a hearbeat, buy I have Z06 rear fenders, so that won't help me.
