Default Corbeau A4 Install Hints???

I am looking to install Corbeau A4s into my C6Z. I was just at Bondurant and the seats fit me great. I have a long upper body and they worked well. Bondurant fabricates their own brackets though...

For those of you with Corbeaus, how did you mount them. Are the corbeau brackets OK? I like the Pfadt brackets, but not sure they will work with Corbeau as they state Sparco.

Thanks in advance!

Are the a4's side or base mounted? I have a cobra in my 07 c6 but it's side mounted so that made it quite easy (I have the uprights side brackets mounted on my oem power rails). Were you intending to do this for a daily seat or track use only? Another question is do you have side airbags?

Hm ok i just checked out corbeau's website, seems like the a4 is a base/bottom mount. I would think their own mounting bracket would work.

CORVETTE 06-07 (C6) E22052L E22052R

That being said, the seatbelt pretensioner will have to be adapted to fit I'm guessing among other things, unless as a track seat you can forego that and run a 5 or 6 pt harness. I know you should try before buying but perhaps check out something like the sparco roadster/roadster 2? If you can live without reclining it's a good option for a seat and with the side mounts makes it really easy to use brackets available on the market to bolt to your oem rails. I've seen the roadster (and roadster 2) online for 499...bit more than corbeau but then again the quality is much better.

I run this seat in my car, it's my only car too so comfort was key, and non reclining really isn't as big a deal as i'd have thought before. Ingress/egress with the high sides are annoying sometimes though (i.e getting into/out of the car fast when it's raining). If I ever have to replace it, I'll look at a sparco roadster for a more streetable seat (sacrificing some supportiveness for ease of daily use).

Corbeau has the correct seat tracks for the A 4's you can look up your application on their website and they will sell direct to you. I used their A4s in my C4 ZR1. They were ok, however I went with their FX Pro seat for my C6. The reason is the FX Pro has the slots in the seat for the substrap and lap belts. The other benifits are mounting studs on the seat for the lap belts, eliminates having to buy a lap belt mount. The seat also has the provisions on the rear to secure the back of the seat to the roll bar or harness bar. I didn't even attemp to mount the factory lap belts to this set up. It looked like a real nightmare to remove the hardware on the inside of the drivers seat. I use the seat for HPDE events only so it wasn't an issue. Keep in mind that stock belts don't work well with racing seats and 5/6 point harnesses don't work well with stock seats. Something to do with safety.

Thank you for the replies.

I only want the seats for HPDE so I don't care about the stock belts. I need the reclining function, but I would like to have a full race seat if possible. Many post have complained about the corbeau brackets so I was worried.

Does anyone have experience with the kits from Pfadt and others for allowing the steering and airbags to work?

Thanks!

The PFADT seat wiring harness only keeps the telesoping steering wheels functional and keeps the seatbelt light off. It does not make the airbags functional. I don't have the telescoping steering wheel and a piece of tape works good to blackout the seatbelt light, so the 100.00 for the harness is not warranted for me. I have had no issues with the Cobeau seat tracks in the C4 or C6 and I'm 6' 2" at 220 lbs. and I use the single slider tracks. I guess you can buy their double slider tracks if you think your going to have issues.

Thanks for all the great info! Will the airbags still deploy? Is this normal state without stock seatbelts connected or is there a harness (pfadt, caravaggio, etc.) needed?

Thanks!

When you remove the stock seat you will disconnect two plugs before the seat can come out. The airbags will not deploy when you install the Corbeau seat even if you use the PFADT harness. Like I stated the harness only keeps the telescoping steering wheel functional and keeps the seat belt light from illuminating. I just know about the PFADT and Corbeau products I have no idea how guys make perminate seat changes with other products, but hell we are racers so the seat is just temporary only requiring 15 minutes for R&R.
