C6 Engine Removal from Top

Ok, was able to get mine out also, figured I'd post so anyone with my questions will know as well. The advise above is all correct. What I missed was that the "prop shaft" bit was for the automatic, not the manual. Although I was able to angle the motor up and over the steering tube and lines, this angle was much too great and was catching the TT. Here's what else I had to do:

- Remove upper shock mounts
- Remove upper control arm frame bolts (notate washers and location to keep alignment)
- Remove stabilizer frame mounts
- Use trans jack to support cradle (I don't recommend what I did, but was desperate and will include a photo below for a good chuckle)
- Remove 4 cradle nuts
- Slowly lower the cradle making sure nothing catches - See photo, I only went down a few inches
- Lower engine back down and pull forward







This rotor happen to fit the spaces between the cross members and jack puck PERFECTLY - I will buy the right jack next time!
