Lower ET's & higher dyno numbers are great but IMO the increased power under the curve while weekend cruising or roadcoursing is what the Corvette is all about. Ported Ls2 TB & ported FAST 92 FTW

Thanks guys for all of the advice...looks like it is indeed worth the extra money for the extra horsepower of a ported 92

Right but I usually dont give advice on things I dont or didnt own and in this situation you dont own either manifold he is asking about. You never ran either manifold he is asking about either so I dont get what makes your opinion informed.

I owned both and ran both on a C5 and ran ported stocker and a FAST on a C6. I lost count of how many customers ran stock ported manifolds and then my ported FAST on both C5's and C6's.

Yes you have the right to comment but people should file it in a suitable place.

Also, almost all of them knew that better heads and cam was in there future thereby unlocking the extra 10 or so HP they didnt see immediatly."

I already had a LS6 intake, so I avoided the core charge. Its $300 for the TPIS 90MM replacement surgery and another $200 for porting the manifold. We'll see. Good luck to you too.
I think ONE customer I had noted only a 15rwhp gain in most of the power band and yet he gained 4mph at the track along with the rest of the crew leading me to believe that his baseline dyno was very high. ALL of the other customers without exception, stock heads and cam notwithstanding, all saw better than 20rwhp and 25rwtq under the curve.....all of them. That would be about 40 or so dyno'ed cars out of 100 of so FASTs that I've prepped.

I speak with Tony Mamo on the phone from time to time and I am sure he meant peak HP/TQ numbers which is not at all what the FAST does under the curve. I will bring it up with him next time. Unlike any ported Stocker, the FAST's power under the curve is never indicated by its peak numbers. I have never seen a ported stocker make anything better than its peak numbers under the curve. Saying a FAST got 15 at peak and you got 11rwhp with a ported LS6 will not be a fair comparison because at 4500rpm, the difference will be more like 20rwtq over the ported LS6 and that is definitely worth the difference in the price.

Anyone wanting a ported LS6 or LS2, I get 9-11rwhp from them with my porting so for a 160 dollar investment, you can get 1/3 of the results of the FAST. The porting of stockers is less than 1/2 the work for me compared to a FAST prep, so I like that kind of sale too. PM for any details.

Thanks for the help...
This is an independent shop's dyno of a ported FAST over a Ported LS2 unit....note the massive gains in the midband and the TQ is over 30rwtq better in the 3500-5500 range and is never less than the baseline.

The FAST doesnt lose TQ anywhere in the power band.

Not true that you lose tq so tell whoever said that to you that its 100% false.

So if you had some LS6 or LS2 unit and the gains were ONLY 9rwhp and 17rwtq better would it be worth it? Then look at the area under the curve and ask if gains of 25rwhp and 30rwtq in the midband are worth the difference.

The above dyno is the stock cam and stock heads with a FAST swapped onto it.

Here are the results of my ported stock intake vs stock FAST intake. Just to show that even though results may vary, the FAST shines stock and especially ported.

Here's stock vs ported stock intake.

Lingenfelter also sells the Fast too, so its not like the are biased.
I saw the dyno comparison in another thread...its virtually the same.
Saw this also on the C5 forums:

Can't go wrong considering the price.
P.S.
Call or email Lingenfelter's customer service dept. they'll give you the real scoop on this, and won't try to sell you an unnecessary component for your application; and yes they know what they're talking about.
