Drone is prevalent from 1500 to 1900RPM in the open position.

Anyway, no drone on my car.

NPP in a Box is wired for the butterflies to open in the closed positions to accommodate the wife.

Depends on what you want to do. With the factory setup, the computer controls when the vacuum is applied based on RPM. This is like a "smart" version of the musclecar era Cowl Induction hood flapper in that under WOT, the flapper is open. This is what I have done as a temporary measure with my exhaust; it's open when I need it most, WOT, and closed at all other times. Eventually I will add a cheap vacuum control solenoid so that I can determine if the buterflies are open, closed, or "auto" (like now). NPP in a box might be a good alternative too, if that does what you want. For me, a $5 vacuum switch and a few feet of hose will meet my requirements.

I agree, I had them with no vacuum (open) for a few days and it did drone at freeway speed. Had a nice crackle to it on decel though!

There are two vendors that make systems for converting a non-dual mode car to one that controls the flaps.
Sunset Orange (Ben) has a RPM controller that will open the flaps at a preset RPM. He also has a manual version where you either put a button on a remote or the DIC reset button.
Pipedreams sells the manual mild to wild system, which uses a remote to activate. If you have an 05 with the Home link system I think the mild to wild can use the visor buttons to activate.

The Z06 muffler will drone some 1500-1800, especially with headers. Once the flap is closed though, its just a bit louder than a stock muffler..
