Default courtesy lights problem

when i washed the car clean inside i noticed that interior lights are not turning off. i cannot turn off reading lamps in the mirror by pressing the button. side lamps on the leg compartments don't have switch. of course doors were closed. first i thought that maybe some water came to the locks. although it seems rather impossible i took away the fuse and wait couple of days, but after putting fuse to the place lights are still on all the time.
do somebody has that problem?
as my waranty passed maybe you guys know what to do?
(i can drive without interior lights but there is no solution)

Check the button for the dimmer switch. You might have pushed it in by accident. It controls the courtesy lights AND the dash dimmer. Push it and see if the lights don't start behaving.

Hey the switch that adjusts the dash lamps, if you push it turns all the interior lamps on. Try giving it a push. Dad does this all the time when dusting the interior.

Check the following:

  • Press the Reading Lamp Buttons under the rear view mirror to turn them on/off.

  • Push the Instrument Panel Brightness **** in to turn on/off the interior lights.

And - after you push the dimmer switch in, don't forget you will need to wait several seconds for the "dim down" to kick in. I don't remember how long it is - but at least 15 seconds for the dimming to start.

They won't just go off immediately....
