Well i think it's about time to put a cam in my car...What i was wanting to know is can i do it myself.. I put heads and cam on my old 2006 silverado with no problems at all..Is it that much harder to do..I hear it's a pain..Does anyone have pics of an install..Any info would be greatly appreciated..Thanks..
You can do it!! Its a little more difficult than a truck or normal car but overall its basically the same. I have a few pics of my install but the quality isnt great.
Basically the only real differnt part is moving the steering rack and disconnecting all the power steering stuff.
Heads are off cleaning the cylinders. Power steering pump has to be disconnected
You can see the tie rod end. You have to disconnect the entire front steering rack to take the u.d. pulley and timing cover off.

I have a question about the last photo in the post above...
The top sprocket is connected to the cam correct? If so when I insert my new cam is there an indicator on the cam to line up on the sprocket? That way you know the cam is in the correct position to line up with the bottom sprocket.

Thanks for your help!
There is a locating pin in the front of the cam. You can see the hole it fits in on the sprocket at about the 3 o'clock position in the picture
