^^^ simple economics. The C6 Vette with the LS2 was only produced for 3 years, 05-07, call it 100,000 cars...most of the buyers will not be buying the FAST so it's not worth the ton of money it takes to have a new top plate mold made, particularly since for the users who really want it, there are alternative options including cutting the firewall slightly or doing this mod.

Default Only the LS2 intake is affected this way?

Is the LS2 the only engine affected by this or does it run the gamut of LS3 and LS7 as well?

Well I'm back in action. The JB Weld Quik seems to be some great stuff. I like the way it goes on nearly liquid to fill all seams and then hardens pretty quickly. I also prepped the surfaces well with some sandpaper to give the epoxy something to bite on based on Spin's advice. Hopefully I'm done with this project.

The car is purring like a kitten again. The Vette intake is sure easy to RnR once you know the couple of tricks to it.

^^^ the LS3 and LS7 are non-cathedral port heads and use a different FAST, the 102mm, and that manifold fits the C6 chassis just fine.

Default LS2 Specific intake mod problem

Thanx, Joe_G--That makes sense. I hadn't realized that the mod in question was specific to the LS2.
