Trans problem on 2005 C6????

My 2005 C6 with 4speed auto tranny has had the following problem a couple of times...

It feels/sounds like the tranny is grinding...the car will barely move...almost sounds like a metallic object is caught underneath the car....very scary...

Then it clears up almost immediately after shutting the car off/turning it back on a couple of times....

Anyone familiar with this problem and a possible solution...thanks

Sounds more like a drive train noise than a trans noise......Jack it up and take a look see.

I do not think that is it....somebody told me it is a "computer program" problem....does anybody know anything about this????....thanks
