Default Michelin PS2's Extremely Sensitive to Temperature??

i just bought a set of non run flat PS2's for my 08 z51.. i was told these are ultra high performance summer tires which i was told means they are not good in the extreme cold weather and useless on snow and ice. so living in atlanta i thought i would be okay. it seems that if it is sunny and 70 (or above) they are smooth as can be. however if the temp. drops to 40-45 then i get a slight constant vibration in the wheel. it is at all speeds and for the entire ride. meaning not just for a few miles until the flat spot goes away. has anyone else experienced this problem with these or any other ultra performance "summer" tire? they have been speed balanced on the car.
tks, dal

PS2's are pretty slippery in the 40's F range. Be careful, they don't grip unless you can get warmed up. Flatspotting only goes away after the tire is warmed up a while. In lower temps, it takes extra long. So if it takes 15 minutes in fair weather, it takes longer when its colder...

24000 DAILY DRIVEN miles on my PS2s. I never had any issues with any flat spotting or unusual vibrations, but in winter (I drove the car right through winter) the traction drops DRAMATICALLY. Anything below 50F and they grip like a cheap all season.
Other than that its a fantastic tire; tons of dry grip, and possibly the best wet road traction of any tire you can buy.

Default 45 degrees

i got PS2's this winter and have had a chance to compare at below 45 and over 70 degrees. Big difference in handling. loose but no vibration issues below 45, at 70 degrees - what a tire. Smooth ride, quiet, and stickey. love them!!!

Michelin also makes an all-weather version of the PS2. I had a set on my Camaro SS, and they performed extremely well.

to all those using PS2's with no vibration problem... are you running ZP or non ZP? i am wondering if the sidewall of the ZP makes a difference.. again i am running non ZP which is going to be more prone to flat spotting and temperature changes due to the ultra soft sidewall.

The wet traction is outstanding. Much better for a daily driver than those Supercars. They were downright scary in the rain.

I have no vibration issues with the ZPs. Been running them since November in everything from 30 degree to 85 degree weather and only notice that traction is less in the cold. Flat spotting isn't an issue for me as it's a daily driver.

I don''t have any issues like that with my PS2s. The only thing I have noticed is much less traction than when they were new after putting 10,000 miles on them. The rears are almost totally gone and will need replacing soon.
