Default Exhaust Question

I'm thinking of changing my stock exhaust on my 2007 Manual C6 to something a little louder. Will a Z06 NPP exhaust and H pipe bolt right up on my car? I really don't want to cut or weld pipes. I know the stock Z06 pipe is a 3" and my C6 is a 2.5 but didn't know if it would bolt right up at the cats.

No it will not work without some cutting and welding, best thing is to get the complete Z06 system from the manifolds back. easy swap in about 3-4 hours with some help from your friends and pick up the extra HP as well. If you insist on doing it without the manifolds the best and easiest thing to do would be to cut your over the axle pipes off at the front of the cans and weld them to the Z06 cans, they neck down to 2 1/2" on the front of the Z06 cans anyway. The H-pipe will not bolt up to the cats without fabrication. I have just done this complete swap and love it along with the NPP in a box from pipedreams, best of both worlds, love the sound and the wife loves to take the drone out on a long trip along with 15 conservative HP for your trouble. Advice, drop the sway bar in the back to ease the removal of the cans and the over the axle pipes, not necessary but simplifys the removal and aids in putting the others in. Also if replacing the entire system from the manifolds back bolt the cats in place before you attempt to bolt the manifolds into the heads, have some one hold the manifolds close to the head and bolt the cats up, otherwise it is a PITA to get to the bolts once the manifolds are on the heads.

Don't forget to mod the Z06 mufflers before you install 'em. You won't regret it

Thanks . I think I'll take your advice and look for the complete Z06 system. Sounds like the best of both worlds.

I have the Z06, non-mod, and they sound perfect to me! Less cutting. Sound is subjective.
