C6 Trans Vent
There is what looks like a vent pipe comeing out of the top of the A6 which heads toward the rear for about 8"then it has a "T" in it with a vacume check valve in it that points toward the left side of the car with nothing hooked to it.The other legg of the "T" just drops down behind the trans.It looks like a trans vent ,But whats up with the "T" that goes nowhere

Automatic transmissions have an emergency vent to allow fluid to escape if it get too hot, especially if was accidently overfilled. This prevents the fluid pressure from destroying internal compnents. Sounds like what you may be looking at.
