Terminology these days makes answering your question a bit difficult. Back in the day an 'intake' was an 'intake manifold' which makes the answer to your question: a FAST intake manifold.

These days 'intake' is incorrectly used to name an 'air cleaner assembly' in which case the answer is a Vararam.

Yep, Vararam. Get the pre cut shroud and have a shop install it.

I am running the AirAid, it is a nice unit, can be had for around 200$ on ebay
Didn't want to go vararam route since couple guys posted that they hydro locked their car
if it is a garage queen then yes, but my car is actually driven spring-fall

I decided on a Callaway Honker, instead of the Vararam. They probably tunnel the same amount of air thru, but the Honker looks better.

Due to it's design the Vararam should be more effective than the Honker.

I do too, as do several people on here that run a Vararam. Most don't have a problem, just don't bail off in a big body of water

That is debateable. Though for sure, due to its design, the VR picks up far more crap in its filter (like leaves, bugs etc. etc.) which needs to be checked and cleaned regularly.

My take is if you track the car, run it, the Vararam hands down. If a garage queen, why does it matter? Get what looks best in your eyes.

Has anybody posted a contrast/comparison? There's a fair number of products available. Searched but couldn't find one.

I havent seen one....though have seen some 1/4 mile times without and
without the intake. For me, I picked up .15 with the "free air mod" and
.20 with the Xcelerator Intake (Honker clone). So too, my IAT's dropped like a lead ballon once moving down to near ambient.
