i want to put different gears in c6 vette. i do not have intentions to run at a track. my question is what gears should i have installed that will give the best results without a drastic
change in gas
You will get a lot of different opinions on that question. I have 4.10s and lost 1-2 mpg at cruise, but got a great seat of the pants feel. If you have an auto, 3.15 or 3.42 is for you. Filling out your profile would help with answers.

If 4.10's are good enough for John and Spin, they'll be good enough.
Your options are 3.42, 3.73, 3.90 and 4.10 ratio. I would ask 2005 A4 owners with autos who added those ratio's, not manual stick shift owners, what their opinions are. My guess is gas mileage would suffer a bit. You could also consider a stall converter.
I have a 2005 a4 auto. If you have the performance 2.73 then you should probably go to 3.15 if you dont want a drastic change but still want more of a kick in the shorts. I went 3.42 and at 65 I run just above 2000 rpm and at 80 its about 2450. If you want some more info just send me a pm and Ill try to answer best I can.

Ask Dennis50nj. He has 373`s in a 2005 and he is flying.
