Hey, wasn't too sure if I should post this in the forced induction or Tech forum, so I've posted it in both..
I've been having some problems with a Magnacharged C6.. Everytime I think about flooring it, the traction control flashes at me, then the car just dies! It is kinda annoying since the only way I can race is by feathering the throttle... anyone seen this issues before?
Another problem I'm having is I took it to get it dyno tuned, and the **** who tuned the vette didn't a half assed tune.. The same day I met up with a GSXR and '07 Z06 to try it out... after both races a camaro pulled up next to me, so i was after him, 3rd race and the engine blew!
So now im on the lookout for a new engine... any ideas? I've found an LQ9 Bare block ready for me to prep, but not sure if it's better going with iron or aluminium..
Also what pistons should I run? my mods are as follows:
Wow never heard of anyone blowing up a motor with a 112 w/6 lbs. of boost. I had one on my 07 for two years with zero issues. The car was road raced, drag raced, open road raced, and did a few mile shootouts. However, Callaway did the tune so I'm "guessing" your tune is suspect here. You might want to consider 9/1 compression ratio pistons for a supercharger build and posting this in the FI section, lots of good info there.
Iron block adds another ~ 80lbs. Given you have already added the weight of a S/C, I'd look to stay with Al. Are you considering a 4" stroke while you're at it?
I'll be using the stock crank.. I think it is from the tune itself... I guess ill have to take it into my own hands and not rely on anyone else....
any guess what my compression would be with the heads? If im looking for -cc pistons, what would be a good match to it all?
