Default cam sensor code P0340

Has anyone had the P0340 cam sensor code on their Z06?
I also had a couple of undefined codes occur.
The car starts hard, turns over no start, a backfire, stinks, etc. then may start and idle ok.
The car has 2300 miles and I still love it even with this problem.

Thanks,
Joe

Did this code show up after changing the cam?

i've had this 2 times

the first time was when my fuel pump fuse blew at wot during a shift

i cleared it and it was fine

the 2nd time was after, installing my new software in the pcm

it forgot the cam i guess, and dan had to use a tech ii to relearn the cam,

usually you will get a misfire code along with it

No cam change, just headers, a tune, T-stat and milled/CNC'd heads. This occured about 300 mi. after the head swap and dyno tune.
Maybe it is a failed sensor and has nothing to do with any of the mods.

I saw the LPE GT11 cam in your profile and thought that you may have had the wrong reluctor/cam sensor installed with the swap. It happened to me. That being said, it still sounds like you need a Tech ll relearn as beefcake mentioned or a new cam sensor as the symptoms are very similar to what I experienced.

HPtuners can do the relearn.

Try clearing the computer first of the codes.

Hey Spin how are you?
Thanks all, this problem is on my Z06 so I'll call dealer this AM and see what he'll do with it.

Fixed Dealer tech found plug to sensor came unplugged, he thought it was never locked in from factory. Easy fix, a new plug end with locking tab installed and she purrs again actually it's a nice growl.
Thanks for the help
