Put a front padlet just one in the wrong way. Car made a horrible sound braking. Never made it out of the driveway. Pulled tire and now have a nice ring around my rotor about 1/8 inch wide. Any way to physicially remove this? Some kind of cloth or grit paper.
Thanks, i'm a idiot
You're not an idiot, I did the same thing on my wife's car and I have been changing brakes for 30 years. Unfortunately, I had to replace her rotor, but they might be able to turn yours professionally if the groove is not too deep.
Just checked GM websight. Am i reading it right, ZO6 stock rotors are 100 bucks a piece.Thats almost cheaper then havivg it turned. I thought they were like 300 a piece. NICE

Check NAPA for a better price!!! So me a picture of the damaged rotor
Bill i think it's pad build up. I suck at sending pictures. I swapped out track pads to OEM and now when braking easy i hear grinding. Will check more out tomorrow, but i never remember hearing this before.
Thanks for the comments.
Tracked the car over last weekend, so i swapped pads out.Not that big a deal. Theres 6 padlets for each front brake and while you put them in they fall out. Simple mistake if your not careful. But seeing your mods you know what i'm talking about. I mechanically do everything i can to keep the car from the dealer.
