Default Headers Dyno Numbers

Hello All,

These numbers seen low to me, stock it came in 325hp to the wheels with 295 torque, new numbers 365RWHP and 350 torque. I have seen people with a lot hire numbers post on here. Talking with my install friend he said it all depends what kind of dyno your using. I have a 08 manual with Z51 and NPP exhaust. Can anyone shed some light on this topic. I thought for sure I would be over 400 to the wheels.
The type of dyno he has is called a Mustang lol maybe thats why.

Headers usually pick up 25 or so hp, a basic tune 5 hp. You picked up 30 which is normal, and Mustang dyno's usually read lower than dynojets, but this one is really low. On a dynojet, which most of us use as the standard, you should be at 400 auto, 410 manual. The dyno numbers can vary, but the change should be constant. I wouldn't worry about the numbers knowing you picked up 30 hp. If numbers are important, have it redone on a dynojet. Good luck.

The Mustang dyno reads a lot lower than the dynojet numbers you normally see posted. What matters really is the gain..which 30rwhp for headers and tune sounds about right

Well even though the dyno numbers came in low, not sure why,the power is crazy accelerating from 2nd to 3rd the tire spin is a little scary. Very happy and it sounds great too.

As prevoiusly stated, you did pick up 30 hp and that is enough to notice. Obviously you noticed. I see you have a manual so on a dyno jet you will probably show 410 rwhp. No need to spend the the money for a new dyno now, after your next mod you can do so. If you have the stock tires, be careful, as they will spin when you least expect it especially in cool weather.

I disagree. Spend the little money and get it redynoed. It still might feel fast but if something is wrong with the car it could be faster. I would getting dynoed in a heart beat if it was my car just so I knew my car was ok. Go do it and repost so I can feel better for you!

Mustang Dyno and from the few I've seen, they seem to line up normal with the LS2, not sure about the LS3 though. I think sometimes the tuner attempts to convert or correct to dynojet results and the numbers are higher or skewed. Try a dynojet and have em correct to SAE.
