Default Launch control

Well motor heads - I have a question for you - with the 2010 model stating that it will have launch control - can the 08 and 09's be upgraded to the new program and if so what is required?

I do not think anyone will be able to answer that for awhile. Plus, we need to wait and see what the results are first. It may not be the panacea of what one might think.

"It can be turned on or off. Most decent drivers will get better times with it OFF. The new Camaro SS with the LS3 and six speed manual also has the launch control option. In Motor Trends tests, the car was 4 tenths quicker in the 1/4 mile with the launch control off than with it activated. That car ran a 13.0 with no launch control and 13.4 with launch control on. Expect similar results for the Corvette"

If it works anything like the Nissan GTR...
I'm sure allot of you have seen this but check this video out. It explains how the system works.

On the flip-side Tadge mentioned a few time that using the launch control will not void the warranty which makes me wonder if it's a little on the conservative side. Who knows, we'll see once these cars hit the road and we can download the 2010 calibration. It may be just a modifiable table in the "Competitive Driving Mode" section of the tune.

Yeah, except that there is no such thing as a competitive driving mode section of the tune

Well for GTR they don't void the warranty anymore if they get the new update they change it from Launch control to Trans brake.

IMO its totally different process for corvette its more of drive train insurance than a Launch control since it maintains an amount of torque that goes to the drive train.
