I just traded in my '07 Z06 for the new ride in my avatar. I used to track it at Summit Point Raceway, and I kept some of the track goodies from it, just in case. Including a set of new Toyo RA-1s. However, they're meaty:
335/30R18
275/35R18
I'm thinking about looking for a salvaged/smooshed C6 coupe to build a track rat, at some point in the future. Question: with the stock fenders, will those tires fit? I'm guessing they won't clear at all.
I'm not really keen on spending significant amounts of cash on a widebody kit for the track toy. I'd like to keep this project as inexpensive as I can. :-) Which also means not replacing the wheels and tires (until they're spent), if possible. But, if they won't fit, they won't fit.

I have seen 325's under the back of them but it is really tight. I run 305's on the back of mine with plenty of room. Of course you could always mini tub it too....
In the front a 275 fits great, especially for track use.

*mutter* That's what I figured. I'm guessing that even if they did fit, under compression there might be scraping.

Good to know.
How is the new car?
Deceivingly quick, unbelievably comfortable, and for a 2-ton porker, it handles quite well. At least, my last trip around the Shenendoah Mountains seemed to bear that out. :-)
the fronts will fit but the rears wont. you can always do the rear quarter conversion. it depends on the offset of the wheels you have. ive seen aftermarket wheels on a stock c6 with 325's on the rear

I have CCW wheels which mount Z06 rubber 325/275 and stay inside the stock body work. They are American made, forged quality wheels that also look great.
If its a dedicated track car why is it important for the wheels not to stick out a little?
I am running the 295/30-18 and 335/30-18 R888 on my stock fendered C6 with no problems whatsoever. This is on CCW C10 wheels, 18x10 and 18x11.5. CCW seems to be the only company that gets the offsets just right.

Hm. Intriguing. I wonder if the Forgelines that Anthony sold me back in the summer of '06 will have the proper (or close enough) offset. I guess I'll need to 'borrow' someone's C6 coupe to try them out on. :-)

You can give it a shot, but the ones built for a Z06 are built given the car is almost 2" wider than the base car....they are going to stick out a bit.

Yep. Again, sticking out is OK, since I'm not trying to win any appearance contests (or get it inspected). But fender rubbing is decidedly NOT OK.
All that said, this is for something in the future. Just trying to get my head around what I'd need to buy. :-)

Well just find one that has some "smooshed" fender areas and toss on a set of Z06 fenders. Its $1,000 and leave them unpainted. Hell - don't even buy the inner fenders - call it custom brake cooling haha
Not sure where Oak Hill is but I'll be taking my newly purchased forged 427 C6 all the way through the valley from 64 up to Front Royal. I'll keep an eye out for a CTS-V screaming up my tail
I had an 05 CTS-V - Supercharged (maggie), Head work, blower cam, headers, Corsas....Awesome car! Enjoy your new V. I hear they are Niccccccccce.
No rubbing here. LG wheels, 18x10 & 19x11, z06 rubber and lowered all the way around on stock bolts. 07 coupe. Clicked on the wrong quote. sorry. BTW have an 08 CTS, not the the V, nice car.

Any idea what the offsets are on the CCW's? I'm trying to figure out an optimal wheel and tire size package for my C6, in an 18'' diameter.
