Should have started earlier - before the good weather - but, ah, I forgot. The WX in FL is always good

Sounds like you won't remember this waiting . . . in 10 days. I really feel bad for you. Seriously though, I'd be going too.

It took about 3 months for my initial set of mods. I solved my anxiety issues by spending most days at the shop. Made a lot of good friends during that time. I was not the only one in "day care".

Default Just Venting and Bumming Out!

I know it takes time. The shop is great and I understand things take time - particularly if you want it done right the very first time. I would go crazy if it was 3 months. The emotional attachment to a mechanical object is rather amusing. If you think about the time to pull the engine, schedule and perform machine shop time, and then the re-assembly you are talking 3-4 weeks in itself. Then add in everything else plus a good blended paint job you are at 5-6 weeks. That's the way it goes for this "hobby". I just cant wait to run the car with the new trans and rear-end w/new gearing - it will be very cool indeed

Good things are worth waiting for. Consider yourself fortunate. I know 4 serious Corvette racers right now who are 'car-less' either looking to replace a crashed car or waiting to make repairs or modifications. I saw a highly modified C5 blow at the track yesterday and another a couple weeks ago. You're on the sunny side at this point.

Yes - I heard from my Body Shop that coming by parts for some folks is a nightmare because of all the plant shutdowns. He has folks waiting 3-4 months for simple parts. I would personally be on the phone with every junk yard in the country trying to find "my" part.
