Default How tight? Oil pressure sensor

I removed my intake manifold to be ported and found the oil pressure sensor that screws in behind the intake to be loose. How tight should I tighten it up?

That sounds too high... better double check the torque.
I was thinking it was more like 15 ft-lbs since everyone is always talking about being careful not to over tighten it.
Be back if I can find it.

The torque spec for the LS1 oil pressure sensor is 15 lb-ft according to the FSM. I don't have any C6 FSMs so I couldn't look it up. The LS2/3 sensor mounts in the same location, I would think the threads are the same so the torque spec should be the same. I wish I could tell you for sure before you strip some threads, maybe the guy that said 26 lb-ft will come back in and tell where he got that spec from.

David is most likely correct, but I'd still confirm it with the FSM...I'd hate to strip that hole in the block and have to heli-coil it. It'll be nothing but trouble from then on.

As a side note about the torque specs. Cory Harris (ls2 portworks) and my tuner guy both told me not to torque the intake manifold bolts to 89 lb/in as specified in the torque spec from GM. I believe Cory made a post about the brass insert belling at the top and possible cracking the polymer manifold if tightened to spec.
