Default Stupid Vararam tuning Question.

Please excuse my lack of knowledge..but..When you install a Vararam intake that will force more air into engine as your speeds increase how can you tune for it on a dyno that doesn't account for the increase air flow.... as per maybe 100mph as compared to a fan on a dyno? Or are those changes not really that big.

Trapp

And no I'm not buying a fan from NASA for tuning.

The car has a MAF sensor which tell the engine exactly how much air it is getting, at whatever speed. It should be fine.

It's not a total picture - the ecm will make changes to the closed loop operation but only within its confines and sometimes, the LTFT's after a VR will fall outside the envelope and you need to recal.

At WOT the ecm is commanding a programmed set of instructions and it is in open loop - no learning here. If the MAF is still in range it will fuel accordingly, though. Run a wideband and change if you aren't optimized.

more air in, more air out=tune

on almost all setups you should be fine without a tune for just an intake. I ran my vararam for months without a tune and I had no issues. Not saying you wont but if you notice decreased performance tune it. If you plan on doing more mods wait till you get em and tune it then.

Any noticable difference on performance or sound?

Did you guys also get a Silicone Transition Hose that was too big for the MAF on one end with the Vararam?
