Just wondering how many big brake kits would be sold if you could not see them through the wheels?
Don't get me wrong I going to go Brembo's soon as I stop spending money on making the car go fast.
I was at the track with some friends racing my other car. Watching one of them go straight through the cones (half track day) made me appreciate my after-market brakes. I agree that some here just want brakes for looks. Personally, I'm doing wheels/tires/brakes/suspension and then modding for power. It seems backwards to me to make the car fast and then worry about stopping the car.
Dont mean to Hijack but how did you get Zo6 brakes to fit behind those wheels? I have ZO6 repros with 57mm offset on 18x9.5 front and was told I would need a 1/4 spacer to make the Zo6 wheels fit. I want to switch to the 09 Zo6 spyder wheels in the same offset and still need the spacer. How is it that your wheels make it work?
Sweet black beauty...let's see some more pics of that black c6. What's the model # on the front spoiler? Where did you get that mesh from?
One thing no one seems to talk about with bigger brakes is the tires, which is very important in breaking.
Comparing a ZO6 to a Z51 or base C6 coupe is apple to oranges.
If you took the same car, same sized brakes etc and asked brembo/StopTech and all other to send you rotors/pads/calipers I think it would be a more viable test.
If you are street driven, looks only, its hard to beat C6 ZO6 breaks.
With the power you're making I'd invest in a BBK. Even if you weren't making big power I would steer you away from the Z06 brakes. I want you to be safe.
